Issue 8, Volume 1

A word from President Dan

Last week’s open house was a success, we had four guests and we will be getting at least one new member.

This week is the week of All Hallows Eve. Spooky spills off to our Halloween meeting. Some or all of us will be wearing a costume…. At least some extra trimming… The meeting will be standard format except that Pamela Norbraten will be scaring us with her Halloween Tall Tale.

We will be having our Table Topics Contest on November 6th and our Charter Ceremonies on November 13th. It is very important that everyone plan to be there. We had an awesome costume social and Dan and Julie’s. Everyone had an awesome time. So much so they were making plans for the next social at our place.

In the social we found out that we have a lot of musical abilities in the club… an opera singer, even. This week’s latest version of the agenda is below here, but be sure to go to our website to confirm roles, they change right up to the last hour.

Bits and pieces from Terry Lynch, editor

On behalf of everyone who attended Saturday’s wonderful afternoon at Julie and Dan’s place in Janetville, many thanks and kudos for hosting this wonderful and memorable event. Gracious hosts, lots of food and drink, lots of great singing, joke-telling and overall camaraderie. This was indeed a timely and fitting celebration of both the successful formation of Whitby Pros Toastmasters as well the wedding of Julie and Dan. Some great costumes were in evidence, and a great time was had by all. Looking forward to the next one!!!

Cheers,
Terry
